📖 Word For The Day: Trusting God For What You Are

Have you ever wondered why you are here? What is the purpose of your life? I mean, so much of what we do seems mundane and insignificant. Sometimes you may wonder, “What is the point?”

God created you in your mother’s womb precisely how He did, to fulfill His plan for you! God never takes random action. He is specific and intentional in doing everything for His eternal purpose and glory, including shaping and forming you!

Psalm 139:16

Your eyes saw my unformed body;

all the days ordained for me were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

What does this mean? God not only created us just the way He wanted us to be but he also sovereignly determines how long we will live. God’s Word teaches that our times are in His hands, meaning the day of our birth and the day of our death are divinely ordained by God. (See: Psalm 31:5 and Job 14:5).

But this also means that all your experiences in life, day by day, were written down in God’s book before you were born! “All our days written in God’s book” does not merely mean that God has prior knowledge of those experiences, but that He has a PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE! Based on His predetermined plan and purpose for you, God crafted you with the personality, features, desires, and quirks that you have so that you would be perfectly prepared to accomplish His plan for you!

This plan included not only his original creation, but also consists of the family and social setting into which you were born. It includes all the events and all the seemingly random or chance happenings. All the sudden, unexpected turns of events, good and bad, all pre-planned by God so that you could fulfill the purpose and plan for which He created you!

God is giving you an accurate perspective through which to view your life. You are special! You were uniquely designed by a God who carefully planned everything for your good and His glory!

So with these truths in mind, read this:

Romans 8:28-31

28 And we know that in ALL THINGS God works for the good of those who love him, who have been CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

So head out the door today, with the confidence that you are the unique creation of a loving and kind God who made you for His own special purpose! Trust Him today for the power to live for Him!

Happy Thursday, everyone.
