The Servant Life of a Christian
On Sunday evening, 2 August 2026, Ps Simon Chilongoshi challenged us on what servanthood for the Christian looks like. He preached from Matthew 20:20-28 that true greatness in Christ’s kingdom comes not through seeking status or position, as the mother of Zebedee’s sons attempted, but through humble servanthood — following Jesus’s own example of coming “not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

He explained that there is no middle ground; we are either children of God or we follow the prince of evil. As Christians we are called to love like Christ, yet it is an impossible task without Christ. He also gave some examples of how we can truly, with the help of God, love one another sacrificially.
